Today is Sunday. Today I'm in JB. Today my nieces aren't with my parents. Today I can have some peace. Today I can spend my Sunday with my parents. Just me, ayah and mak. ah bless be to God!

Since mak is not big on walking somewhere without any purposes, I decided to bring them to Plaza Angsana, since she needed to buy sewing materials, and it's been A WHILE since I visited Angsana, which I used to call my second home (as it was 5 minutes away from home)..not a lot change, except for some new shops opening, and one of them is i Donuts & Coffee, a donut shop set to challenge other major donut chains.. as I have never seen one before, I'm guessing this is their 1st outlet. The concept is pretty much similar to Big Apple and J co, although the donuts could use more variety in terms of flavour..but they are making it a bit different by selling cupcakes..which I shamelessly bought.

there were about 12 flavours altogether.. I bought 3 just to sample. Each donut will cost you RM2.30

the cupcakes..there were also 12 flavours..I bought the ones that had the least amount of icing cos usually they're just crappy buttercream with no hint of flavour..the one on top is vanilla, the chocolate one is called chocolate coco crispies .

the chocolate one was okay, although the choco crispies is hardly crispy..but the vanilla one was blah...the icing WAS buttercream..with RM3.50 a cupcake, I'd be better off making my own batch of cuppies..but it was worth the try!

before heading back home, we decided to stop by Perodua to have a look at.....

Ayah and Me

It's father's day today...a day I guess is rarely spent as a special day with my own father..not that I don't love him...it was never practiced in our family..both my parents are oldschool and don't really believe in all this celebration crap...however as their daughter, me and my sister will try our best to make them feel appreciated and loved..but rarely on the day itself..maybe on their birthday..sometimes just out of the blue! there's no need for us to express our love on a certain day.

but let's leave it at that shall we... I decided to dedicate this post specially for my father, Aziz bin Ahmad. In my household he is more affectionately known as Ayah..he's 61 this year and is a retired ticketing officer who worked for Malaysian Airlines since he's 19 (back then it was known as MSA- Malaysia Singapore Airlines)..He's the youngest boy in his family of 14..which made him very close with my late grandma. He was a classified nerd back then cos he's been wearing spectacles since he's ten..and I beat him when I wore my first pair when I was 8!

Growing up, I hated my mum, as she was the disciplinarian...anything I did wrong, I will be severely punished by my mother...but never by my dad..he's the more relaxed, tolerant parent..he would do all he can to make me and my sister happy..although at times he is strict with us, don't get me wrong.

And as I'm growing older, I discovered how much of my father is in me...I can safely say I inherited 85% of his traits; be it his looks or interest. First of all, I got my myopia from him! our optometrist has confirmed its hereditary, since both me and sisters were myopic at a very young age..that's the only thing I wish I never inherited from my father! however, the rest, I'm happy with.

how we are similar:

1) We both love photography and can talk about it for hours. My fondest memory growing up would definitely have to be how he would photographed me and my sister every moment he can..back then I thought all dads have cameras hanging around their necks 24/7!

2) We both like extraterrestrial stuffs- UFOs and the likes.

3) We both love The Beatles - although I can pretty much beat him if there were any quiz about the Fab four!!

4) I actually got my passion for drawing from him - something I always thought I got from my mum. My aunts mentioned how my dad loved to draw vehicles and animals growing up.

5) We both love to travel and see the world..my dad's lucky cos he worked for MAS which back then have the biggest job perks!! who doesn't want to travel for free??

but there are traits in which I did not inherit from him which are:

1) his love for bright,bright colours (especially orange!!)
2) his love for old,old,old music.
3) his love for football and how he can debate about it for hours.
4) his love for cars (my sister got this one)
5) his athletic skills (he's a great footballer and badminton player..damn.)

It's Pickin' Time!

Last Saturday me n my gal pals went to Rengit to do some scavenging! for those of you who r wondering, 'what in the world would you want to do there?', well here's the answer. Rengit, a small town in the area of Pontian (about an hour ride from JB) is the best place to get second hand items straight from Singapore...the sellers? Orang Asli who would sell their goods right in the comfort of their makeshift tents/homes.

Being a fan of American Pickers on History Channel, I always want to have the experience of going through old stuff inside someone's old garage, spotting something valuable. And I managed to do exactly just that!

The list of stuff they have here is endless..from the common things like electrical items, to the weird (a pair of angel wings!) all you need are very sharp eyes to search for a good item, and very good haggling skills ! got both? then you can guarantee to get a good bargain here.

The rice cooker graveyard...I tend to avoid buying electrical items as there are no guarantee to how long these things will last once you bought them. These cookers will rest in peace..until they find a new owner.

That's my two gal pals, Kak Sab and Kak Gee, who were bargain hunters! They came home with two sets of huge mirrors at a bargain!

One of the 'shops'...things are either neatly arranged like this, or they could be piled, or they could just be thrown into a huge box..making the scavenging all the more fun!

There were a lot of baby prams available during my visit...some were from expensive brands like Combi, and most are still in very good condition!

Love love love this rocking chair!! the seller wouldn't go lower than RM230 as it is in a very good condition.

I really wanted this wooden chest..it was calling my name!! it was still in a good condition albeit the scratch marks at the bottom ; fixable. I ask the seller for the price : RM60..I left the shop (since my budget is RM30 max). Hopefully by my next visit it will still be there!

This is the weirdest (yet the coolest) thing I saw...a pair of angel wings...any theater club or cosplayer would die to own one of this!

After making our rounds, visiting each shops (there are about twenty shops I think)...I was dead tired but had such a great time picking through stuff!! in the end, I bought this:

A play house for my cat Nemo. Yes, I spent all that hours and ended up buying something not for myself! It originally cost RM30, and I ask for RM10, seller wouldn't budge, then I move to RM15, still she wouldn't budge, then I offered RM20. She accepted.

It is still functional, the scratch post is hardly scratched. I just need to clean it a bit as it was quite dusty when I bought it.

Went home, presented Nemo with his play house...HE LOVED IT!! look at his face!!!!

Nemo : This shall be my throne from now on...now bring me my food!

Japan's Tragedy

Japan has always been a country I am very fond of..it's been a dream of mine to visit this beautiful country someday. So it came as a shock to first hear that Northeastern Japan was hit by a 8.9 magnitude earthquake, which was followed by a tsunami..up to this moment, official death toll confirmed by Japanese government has reached 1,000 , although it is feared that over 10,000 lives were lost during the disaster, which has been dubbed by the government as "the worst tragedy after the World War II"

On the day of the disaster, to be honest, I wasn't paying much attention to the news as I thought it was just a small earthquake, maybe little impact..little did I know the magnitude was equal to the one that hit Indonesia in 2004..then the news showed videos of aerial view of the tsunami waves, sweeping away houses, vehicles, ships..even aircraft carriers..THEN I paid attention. It was devastating to see those videos, knowing that there is nothing you can do but watch. I can't imagine having to experience such tragedy, which made me thankful of where I am living.

My heart goes out to the people of Japan.

Yesterday me and my dearest yaya sister, Kak Sabrina went to Kluang (which was like 20 minutes away from our house) to have breakfast, just to have breakfast...and boy, it was worth the journey cos' we went to the infamous Kluang Rail Coffee, right at the Kluang Rail Station itself! we arrived exactly at 8.20 am and was just sooooo fortunate to get a table (which we shared later with 2 strangers).

if your breakfast mantra is eat, stop, read newspaper, chat, eat some more, slurp your coffee slowly, this is sooooo NOT the place for you....not when there's 10 people gawking 5 meters away from you like hawks, yelling in their hearts saying "when the hell these people are gonna finish??" ..here, you are expected to eat as fast as you can and leave..but no worries about the service cos they have the best crew!!

as Janice from Friends would say..." Oh..my..God".....It's been yoinks since I've visited my own lair....what in the world happened??? As for this visit, I really had to thank Tn Hj Azmi for rekindling my love for blogging, as I am attending a course right now, as I typed, on blogging for teaching & learning....I missed yapping nonsense on my blog that I know only a tiny morsel of the earth's population is reading right now...but I don't care!! I personally think that writing (wait, mostly yapping) on my blog sometimes to be theraupuetic (heck is it even the right spellin? nevermind) and very satisfying..to me of course!! I think I should blog more often!!!!

wHAT the heck happened?!

oh my....been a while...again.....work, work, work, and no play, made me too grumpy to give an update to my oh so monotonous life....but i was compelled to try and change that by giving an update on the most industruous thing i've done in recent time....going to my induction course (yes..that's right.)

but to me,its definately a cool experience...being sent away for 11 days and 10 nights at a place so freaking far away from people, and there's no way you can escape..and provisions only comes in every 3 days by request..11 days without internet is torturous....but i endured everything with God's will..it was fun being 'a frog trapped under a clear glass' (as mentioned by one the keynote speakers).

my induction course took place at Pusat Latihan Felcra Tebing Tinggi,Segamat, Johor, a very secluded, serene place, specially designed to facilitate people like us, course participants...the rooms were ok, at least there's a 14inch tv to keep us company..the bathroom was spacious and waaaay cleaner than most 4star hotels, and the food...delectable to the last bite (i'm gaining 2kilos when i weighed in 3 hours ago!)...the not so fun part? having to endure a routine activity from 6.50am to 11.30pm..even worse when nearing the end, none of us can have a good night's rest, having slept at 3am almost every night...everyday starts off with a morning exercise/aerobics/poco2/freestyle exercise, followed by breakfast,going back to room to shower, go down to the hall for lectures,then to lunch and solat zuhur, go back down for more lectures,go for dinner, go back to room for solat, go back down for more lectures, go for supper, then up to the room and zzzzzzzzz...(doesn't sound exhausting?wait till' u try this yourselves).and you can't leave until you went through 3 hours of exam time...i am soooo glad it's over, and i can't imagine having to go through that ALL.OVER.AGAIN. (please let me pass!!)

and on another note, something i noticed throughout my trip was that, there are a lot of flies here...and i mean a LOT...and these cretins are of special breed : those that won't budge when you shoo'ed them..and no matter how many times u do that, it will come back and stay...here are some shots (bear in mind, i didn't zoom my camera,my camera was literally in front, like 2 inches away) :

oh my, its been a while since i've updated this blog...ooh b4 its getting late, i would like to wish happy new year to y'all!! may this be a year filled with fortune, goodwill and prosperity...

I spent my weekend recently in Kg Org Asli Sayong Pinang, Kota Tinggi,as I was chosen to conduct a ethnography research, and my focus is on their language, bahasa jakun..it was interesting, very interesting.

i would say it is an awakening experience for me...even though the village itself is already considered modern in terms of facilities (there's water, electricity and a school right inside the village)..the mindset of the majority of its residents is well,is still very much closed. however, i had a goooood time taking pictures of the village and its people!!here are some of my faves:

the clinic where we spend our nights..

En. Harun bin Mansor, the headmaster of Sek.Keb Kg.Sayong Pinang,who has been in the school for 10 years, and speaks Jakun fluently.

En. Kasim bin Ibrahim, one of the teachers of SK Kg Sayong Pinang.Although he was from a neighbouring village, he attented the same school he is teaching now, and is considered one of the few success stories of his people,and among the few Muslims in his village. We mainly got our information about bahasa Jakun from him.

En. Jasni Amat, our guide during our 3-day stay there. Doesn't really looked like an Orang Asli huh?that's because both his parents are of chinese-org asli mix.

the 'Tongkat Kuasa', which is given by the Sultan of Johor to the Tok Batin (the short one). the other 'tongkat' is given by Tun Mahathir. Whoever is elected to be the tok batin will receive these.

a grave that we visited. it is the grave of Jasni's older brother, Mail who passed away 6 months ago. if you noticed, the wood is shaped to look like a boat.

all of his belongings like cellphones,clothes,shoes are buried with him. but there are some items that his family put around his gravesite in order to 'help' him in his afterlife, which is pretty much similar to Chinese beliefs.and yes, that is a cellphone.

his family will also put items to make his 'life' easier, such as toy truck, crane and car. the canned drinks you see are his favourite drinks when he was alive.

and the peanuts too were the deceased favourite snack.

they have two sets of tombstone, this one is for the legs,

and this one is for the head.

Went to the office an hour ago,and I was surprised with two surprises!!!

a parcel greeted me, which means my swap is here!!!! this is from the "I can't get it here" swap!! My swap partner is Laetitia from France!

I did mention in my swap requirement that I cannot eat anything that has pork, alcohol or gelatine in case people want to send food items..and she followed them to the last letter, and she labeled all of the chocolates,confirming that there's no gelatine in any of the chocolates, since everything is written in French!! how sweet!

took a bite, and it's tasty!! tasted like dorayaki!

the filling is red bean...just a hint of sweetness in it, which is perfect for my palate!

and just when I thought the parcel had made my day.....

*drum rolls* introducing.....MY NEW CAMERA!! oh wow, 6 months of pure, hard mental labour finally paid off!!!!! since my old Canon Powershot A430 which my dad bought for my 22nd birthday decided to rest in peace (due to it's sensor), I had to skim off every penny for months in order to buy a new digicam...been eyeing this baby for a while, and finally, it's mine!!!!!

I was shocked, majorly shocked to learn that the 'dizziness' I felt for 30 seconds yesterday evening (probably about 6.40pm), was actually a tremor due to the earthquake in western Sumatera...I was in my office on the second floor when it hit..I didn't notice that my office lights were also shaking..but the most noticeable part was that my chair move left and right,therefore I thought "hey why suddenly I have a headche?"...after a few minutes, I went online and some of my pals on facebook said, "hey u felt that earthquake??"

Shudders.

I recently signed to this swapping at Swap Bot! it's where we can swap things like candies, clothes, jewellery....basically the limit is endless!!...this activity is usually for those who loves getting something in their mailbox..so one day I decided to join, to find out whether this is all just a bru-ha-ha "too good to be true" thing...I decided to join a candy swap called 'sugar rush'..now here are basic guides when swapping:

1) if u r new with swapping, u will be called a 'newbie' (swapping slang for newcomers)...now, newbies may have quite a limit to the things that he/she can swap, as there's no proof by others that this newbie has ever posted anything yet.

2)there are a lot of swap categories, ranging from email, recipes,clothes, drawing, and food (my favourite)...there's even a category specially made for newbies..i recommend u join the newbie category 1st.

3)pick whichever swap that may fulfill your desire...look at the detail information of the swap...some swaps are regional,and not meant for international swappers.

4)look closely at the number of partners (ppl who you'll be sending your stuffs to).. the more partners, the more money u need to fork out (basically for the postage fees)

5)look for the deadline and observe it closely...u must send your swap before or on the day of deadline.

6)once u have send your package,u just need to wait for yours to arrive!!

It's hard to put my recent thought into words right now...right now I'm in a state of dumbfounded-ness over the passing of one of Malaysia's most aspiring filmmakers, Yasmin Ahmad...she is truly gone, and there's a part of me that is still in denial about that fact...questions started to roll into my mind, "who's going to make me cry and touched at the same time this year?"(refering to her petronas commercials).. and I think one of the reasons for me trying to deny it was because the day that she collapsed at TV3 (last thursday),hours before, I just went to her blog. And I noticed that her recent posts are somewhat similar in nature; about people's passings and death.

I have always adored her films and supported them by watching at the cinemas (for Gubra and Mukhsin)...I didn't manage to watch her latest offering, Talentime due to hectic work scheduele.

Sure, she is controversial sometimes...it seems that people who criticized her works before, to me, is denying their own reality, because that is what Yasmin tried to portray ; true Malaysians.

We will miss you Yasmin.

Crap Part Deux

I still remembered back when I was still an undergrad student, I always wondered what it is like being a workaholic, cos' I can never imagine somebody being so obssesed with work...and now I totally understand cos' I am one!!!! Perfect example of me being one is I voluntarily cancelled my holidays for a research trip to Kampung Sayong Pinang, an Orang Asli (aboroginies) settlement in Kota Tinggi, about 2 hours from my workplace....I had fun though, and shall post pictures and details of the trip later on, since the photos that I took are still with the technicians..

actually I'm supposed to be doing some proofreading, but hey, that can wait!!! I've been doing it for 2 hours now (40 pages of forms that needed to be proofread)...I needed a break.

I'm am multitasking as always...doing 4 things at once...including updating my blog!

right now I'm doing 2 different translation for a fellow lecturer and for the university's handbook. Goodness thing they're paying rm0.10 per word...and I have 5 pages..that equals...quite a sum I think??!! hopefully...I am also doing college comparison for my department...and tomorrow I'll be heading back to JB, not for a vacay...but for a meeting...sob sob...

while doing my translation, I'm listening non-stop to this song in particular, through youtube..I usually avoid listening to Indonesian songs, but this one just got me...the melody, the lyrics and the fact that it's Rossa, my fave Indonesian singer.

I can't think of a good meaning for this song in English, cos' my brain have been packed with education terms right now...but maybe I'll post it later..
man, Pasha is sooooo damn adorable!why have I been neglecting you all this while???

They definately make a cute couple...too bad Rossa is married, although hers has been a rocky, publicized marriage. Pasha meanwhile, had just finalized his divorce.

I totally believe in the saying "one man's trash is another man's treasure". One of my guilty pleasures is to rampage through old stuffs usually in the form of gawking at yard sales,car boot sales and the likes, where other people resell their old stuffs they don't want anymore, a concept which I love, since you can get rid of your stuffs and at the same time, get some income!!!

So when I went back home last weekend, my sis asked me to follow her to Uptown JB, the latest hip spot in JB (at 11pm nonetheless)...I just couldn't say no!

Uptown JB is situated wherelse,UPTOWN!it has been there for about 2 years I think..it's kinda like a night market mixed with car boot sale, because half of the place is filled with vendors and the other half is filled with sellers and traders.It's open till late, I mean 2am late. Here, people sell merely everything...seriously everything....from old cameras,happy meal toys, posters of celebrities and politicians...to washing machines..yes..washing machines...

I had to go back early yesterday cos' my stomach hurt...from not eating....I only had two curry puffs from this morning, and by noon my tummy started to make beautiful music, but since I was busy with a lot of things, I decided to let it create more beautiful music until it's tired...but I was wrong, it never got tired!!! so I rushed back at 4, cooked myself some instant noodle with minced meat and bak choy and watched tv...ahhh..perfect.

And while watching tv, I was attracted with this program on RCTI (an Indonesian channel) called "Minta Tolong!" (Help!)...it's a reality tv at its best, where they give out money, lots of em' to anyone willing to help a victim out of trouble...the victims are usually real people, not actors who are in a very difficult situation, ranging from a young mother with a baby whose trying to find her missing husband, to a little girl whose trying to sell off partially burnt schoolbooks in order for her to buy new ones...Here is where you get to see real human nature..but usually the target here are the needy people,not the rich (As Indonesians are either waay too rich or waaay too poor)

I cried today when the person who won the money was actually a homeless elder woman who live under a bridge with her husband,eating anything edible that they can find, and she is willing to give out cardboards that she used as a 'rug' to a woman who was finding cardboards to fix her own walls at home.

Never have I felt more relieved to be where I am now,sitting on my comfy chair, a roof over my head,internet access and a money (although not much)...and yet I keep complaining why my life sucks...

oh here's an episode where an old man goes all around town asking if anyone wants to use his shoe polishing service, just so in order that he could buy medicine for his grandchild. It's in Indonesian and there's no sub I'm afraid..

This is sooooo worth the update!! 2 days ago (Sunday), my father called me and said that my elder sister is in labor and has been in the women's clinic for an hour now...I was kinda hoping the baby would come out A.S.A.P, but my sis had to go through 12 hours of undescribable pain (remind me not to have kids,ever)...then the moment we've all been waiting for is here :

she has yet to have a name, still waiting on my parent's decision on her name. But whatever the name, I will adore and pamper her forever and ever!!

whoa....its been yoinks since I updated this blog of mine....guess I have caught the plague of the working citizens and netizens alike....the 'busy-bee' plague...I have tons and tons of work to be done, assignments to mark, research funding forms to fill, yadda yadda yadda...it was only less than 24 hours since I arrived from my folks' home, and I already missed em'!! gosh darn it!

I have been living in Parit Raja for about a month now, and this place actually rawks! stuffs here is mega cheap..I mean C to the H to the E to the A to the P. Plus, we're ten minutes away from Air Hitam (literally translated : black water), a haven for cheapskates like me, cos this place is stacked with things that are cheap, pirated, yet the quality is tip to the top! what a steal!!

BOREdom in the exam hall

Last Monday, I was asked to invigilate an English placement test for new intake students at my university....so I had to go, otherwise they're gonna be breathing down my neck! I was bored to death, since the exam was from 5pm to 6.30pm, so yeah, one and a half hour of catwalking down the exam hall,from the front to the back, repeating the same process over and over again...so, in order to beat down the boredom, I took some picture of doodles from the empty tables in the hall..very interesting doodles!!these were among the best :

The new semester at my uni just started about 4 days now...so,new semester means new students to deal with, new classes to go to, new venues to search for, and new problems to face...I was exhausted for 4 days straight, having no rest since day 1 of the semester..and now I have been loaded with new tasks...but well, I'm always positive about it..there's no way I'm complaining about having too much thing to do (though I am complaining of how tired it's making me)!

Just yesterday, while waiting for a meeting to begin, I sat down at my faculty office to read the newspaper...my hands were holding it, yet my head went like this :

It's freaking January already???? man time flies off waaaay too quickly for me!! Nope, no past year's resolution were ever fulfilled, since I made no such resolution at the start of 2007!!but all that will change!! I've yet to think of it yet....but hopefully I will be able to fulfill em' all...but heck, rules are made to be broken!

Among the perks of having lived for five days in Pan Pacific KLIA is THE FOOD....although the total pairing of the set meals were soooo unsuitable (whoever wanna eat ikan sardin masak kicap with nasi tomato??), but overall it was all sooo scrumptious, especially the cakes and desserts..a little setback was, all we had to drink were coffee, tea, and plain water..I even had to buy a freakin' coke at McDonalds in KLIA (which costed twice as much!) just to have that sweet liquid rush to my brain...

wow,its been like 2 weeks since I last updated!!

I've been away for a week last week to attend a workshop seminar in Pan Pacific KLIA, which I half-anticipated, half-dreading..but throughout my stay there, I was actually glad to have attented the workshop; I got to meet new people,fellow English tutors and lecturers who are sooo much better than me at teaching!they all mesmerized me and aspired me to become a better educator!

hi y'all,

Yesterday was quite an event. My birthday was yesterday. Usually I don't make a fuss about it cos' when I really think about it, why am I celebrating on myself being older, grumpier and chunkier?? but yesterday was a big difference..I got the best birthday present ever; Barack Obama's presidental won. Nothing could be anything sweeter than that I tell ya, even though technically it had nothing to do with me cos' I'm not American, but hey, it's good to see them Americans are for once, thinking straight.

Yesterday evening, I did my own celebration by treating myself to Marrybrown. Actually I was waiting for my bus to come and since Marrybrown was just in front of the bus station, I could use some restin' ( ok I lied, I just wanna sit on the swings!)..but I definately wasn't ready to cough up RM9.50 for curly fries, a piece of chicken and an ice lemon tea!!! they are soooo lucky it's my birthday, and I'm in a good mood!!

*for those of u who missed Mcdonalds curly fries, eat em' here cos it's the same fries*

I will be in KL from 10 to 14th November, which will be next week. I gotta attend this course for young lecturers....kinda dreading it cos I still have a lot to do here, but kinda anticipating it because it will be held in Pan Pacific KLIA...sweeeet!! Then the week after that I will again make my way to KL, this time for a stress free vacation with my friends!! wooohooo!!!! can't wait!!!

hola!!

It's been a while since I've updated...been soooo busy with work nowadays...a lot has been happening this past week...good things and bad things.

I have officially called this month 'the somber month', due to the passings of family members of my friends,my student, and the passing of my uncle last week...My heart and prayers goes out to all of them,may they be strong to overcome such trial.

On a totally different note, I went back home to enjoy a 3-day stress-free break, as I was too tensed with work lately..It felt so gooooood to be back!!

And the moment I entered the door, my dad greeted me with a parcel from Singapore! my lip gloss has arrived!!! I won a bid on a Stila lip gloss, and the best part was that it only costs me RM10!!including postage!! what a steal!!

The next day,which was Saturday, I got another parcel, this time from the States, which could only mean a thing...My DVD is finally here!!!!

MeLakA's Visit

hola!!!

I spent my weekend in Melaka,visiting my aunt and having the chance to go back to the wonder that is Melaka. I haven't been there in like 3 years, and recently I was sooo stressed out, I could really use a break!!!

I arrived at my aunt's house Friday night (really late night!!) along with my uncle and aunt whm I'm living with in Batu Pahat...the moment we arrived, I went straight to bed cos I was soooo sleepy!! the next day,we were served with a buffet of breakfast!

Afterwards, I followed my aunt to Tesco Melaka to buy some groceries,here are some interesting things I found there:

2nd post today..

Last two weeks,just before I had to go back to work,my parents decided to visit our relatives (in conjuction with the aidilfitri celebration of course) in Parit Karjo, one of the many 'parits' that are available in Batu Pahat..We were there to visit my mom's aunt and uncles who live right next to one another..While there, I noticed this old abandoned house right in front of my great uncle's house, but didn't care much, until afterwards when my mom told me that,that house was the house that my grandma grew up in,and it has been there since the 1920s..It amazed me how it can still be standing there, having survived the war and,the termites...Therefore I took these pictures for keepsake, in case they decided to pull down the house later on,which I highly doubt though since it is now a chicken coop..too bad nobody have the time to maintain it...*sigh

I actually lost my old blog account, so I decided, what the hey, just do another one!

Yesterday after work, I decided to stop by Batu Pahat Mall, the latest attraction in Batu Pahat, just in order to do some retail therapy, cos my goodness, I can definately use it!!! I have been so busy and stressed out with work, just walking around the mall is already considered a therapy for me!!!! I even treated myself to a pair of shoes! on sale!!!

It was only then did I realized that we women soooo cannot live without shopping!!
